DC Series : Vogue Paris

My illustrations keep me going...I can work all my life creating illustrations, except that would be something I can keep as a formal job? Hmmm..that would be nice!

i want my TOMS!

TOMS is finally here in the Philippines guys, and I can't wait to get my hands on one. Btw, if you have been wondering what is TOMS, then lucky you for this is the day. The American footwear brand was founded by Blake Mycoskie in Arlington, Texas back in 2006. His company designs and sells lightweight shoes based on the Argentine alpargata design. With every pair sold, TOMS donates a new pair of shoes to a child (in a 3rd world country) in need. The brand has given hundreds of the canvass shoes in the US, Argentina, Haiti, South Africa, Guatemala and South Africa. The designs have been featured in Teen Vogue and Vogue.

On our shores, the brand is distributed by Nothing but Water and Shoe Salon stores in TriNoma. Prices starting from Php 3125 and up depending on the design. Hey if you ask me, it is hitting two birds with one stone, having a comfy weekend shoe and participate in the brand's charitable campaign.

These are the ones that caught my heart and eyes!

DC Series 1: Sam Milby for GARAGE Mag

Going back to my first love (not Sam Milby) but drawing is what I meant. Ever since I was a child and remembering how a certain Mongol 1 pencil and me jived together, my growing up years would never be the same without that experience. At present I'm thankful for Photoshop and bloggers Dan Roberts and Garance Dore (even if they don't know me) that I can always be proud of who I am through my illustrations.

Lesson for the day!

Should this be a laughing matter or just a fact of life, whatever you do (work that is), we need to treat others as how we would like to be treated. In the end, even the lowly karpintero can do a walk-out scene and leave behind an unfinished ceiling.

Oxygen's Mid-Year Campaign

Oxygen TM, a Philippine clothing line have just launched a series of shots peg by Doc Marlon Pecjo for its mid-year campaign. Past faces who have become part of the line were Bernard Palanca, Ornussa Cadness, Brazilian Daniel Matsunaga and Derek Ramsey.
This time however, the use of non-recognizable models works for me since the shots portray a story to which some of us yuppies or clotheshorse can relate to. I think this set the bar for other local brands as well to really put in some creative juice into their campaigns that can rival those of Gap or SPF and not just some pretty/a face of an artista.
